Man nehme ein Streichholz oder auch zwei, ein paar - um es auf modernere Art und Weise zu vollstrecken - Liter
Benzin und eine ordentliche Portion Hass, fertig ist der Kirchenbrand. Einigen juckt es bezüglich dieser Thematik
sicherlich schon lange in den Fingern, doch da es strafrechtliche Verfolgungen nach sich ziehen kann, ist es wohl
doch die angenehmere Variante, seine anti-christliche Wut zu vertonen. So wie Nightwolf mit seinem im Jahre 2004
gegründetem Ein-Mann-Sturm Godless Cruelty, der diesmal unter der Flagge von Northfire Records das mittlerweile
siebente Release in den Untergrund feuert.
Auch wenn der technische Standard nicht der höchste ist, hat "Perversion am Kreuz" (welch klangvoller Inhaltstitel;
könnte auch von Caedes stammen) einiges zu bieten: Beispielsweise könnten Fetischisten verschiedenster
Perversionsgruppen auf ihren Geschmack kommen, wenn sie das Titelstück und seine aus Pornofilmen mitgeschnittenen
Klänge zu Ohren bekommen. Jedoch sind solche Spielereien innerhalb des Gesamtkonzepts eher eine Seltenheit.
Ansonsten dominieren sägende Höllenriffs und hasserfüllte Lyrik. Auch der melancholischen Seite hat Nightwolf seine
Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet, denn Stücke wie "Das Kreuz ist gefallen" bahnen sich im ständigen Wechsel zwischen
Midtempo und Feuersturm einen klagenden Weg durch die flammende Christenstätte. Leider ist die gesamte CD in
unterschiedlicher Lautstärke abgemischt, was für mich ein Problem darstellt, da so der Wiedererkennungswert
drastisch gesenkt wird. Die Situation ist also folgende: Die leiseren bzw. dumpferen Aufnahmen sind angenehmer zu
hören, als jene, welche recht höhenlastig und laut aufgenommen wurden. Denn diese matschen die betroffenen Stücke
in einen Einheitsbrei, aus dem nichts eindeutig heraus sticht. Es kommt sogar so weit, dass die Bass-Drum gar nicht
wahr genommen werden kann (umso mehr tönen die Hi-Hats heraus, was mit lautem Kettengerassel vergleichbar wäre).
Letzten Endes wende ich mich mit gemischten Gefühlen von dieser CD ab. Denn das Liedgut ist zwar nicht schlecht,
doch wie soll man es genießen, wenn es an soundtechnisch gelungener Umsetzung mangelt? |

Take one match or two, a few - yes we want to execute it in the modern way - litres of petrol and a good portion of
hate, completed is the church-conflagration. Maybe some of you already got this prickle in your fingers, because
this issue is employing yourself since a long time. But it can result in penal chases, and so it's better to
compose your contempt. Such as Nightwolf and his One-Man-Assault Godless Cruelty, which was found in 2004 and fires
the meanwhile 7th output into the underground (this time under the banner of Northfire Records).
Even if the technical standard isn't the highest, "Perversion am Kreuz" (what a sonorous title; also could be from
Caedes) has got its own qualities. For instance many fetishists out of several perversion-groups could acquire a
taste for it, if they listen to the main title and his curious sounds, which were probably cut out of a porn film.
However such gimmicks are rather a rarity inside the collective concept. Otherwise hellish sawing riffs and hateful
lyric dominate over the whole time. But also the melancholic side gained the attention of Nightwolf. Moanful and
in a constant exchange between midtempo and firestorm, songs as "Das Kreuz ist gefallen" paving its ways through
the flaming sanctuary. Unfortunately the whole CD is mixed in several audibility, what constitutes a problem for
me, because thereby the recognition-account is abated dramatically. Now it is so, that the more quiet and dull
recordings are more agreeable to hear as this ones who were recorded louder. Because they merge the affected titles
into an unit-mash out of which nothing can stab out clearly (sometimes the bass-drum can't be administrated and the
hi-hats clink like a couple of strings which are rattling).
At the end I turn away from this CD with quite mixed feelings. The songs aren't bad, but how should one enjoy it,
if it lacks on a good sound technical conversion?
